SPICE to Host Fifth Annual Lubbock Open
(PressZoom) - Texas Tech University, the Susan Polgar Institute for Chess Excellence (SPICE), the Susan Polgar Foundation and the Knight Raiders will host the fifth annual Lubbock Open, a five-round Swiss system tournament, open to all ages. This event is a U.S. Chess Federation-rated individual tournament.
All events will be held Saturday (Jan. 28) at the Lubbock Science Spectrum (2579 S. Loop 289). A United States Chess Federation (USCF) membership is required and can be obtained online at uschess.org or on site.
On-site registration and check-in will be held from 9 to 10:15 a.m. All pre-registered players must check in by 10:15 a.m.
Entry fees are $15 before Jan. 20, $20 before Jan. 27 and $25 on site.
